Benefit to community groups

There has been a recent increase in the need for community space in the borough as a result of the decant of several community groups from the portakabins in Edmonton and other decants due to building works and major repairs in other areas.

Two presentation were  organised on was aimed at umbrella organisations in the borough, as a consultative exercise to ascertain the need. Twelve organisations attended. The second was for pensioner groups in conjunction with Age Concern. They generated interest from groups regarding leases for particular halls and hire of office space in addition to hall hire for various activities, subsequently forming part of the community development work being pressed by the halls manager.
